Best Tubs For A Person With Health Problems

by Jill Jenkins

If you are a person who suffers from health problems, you may find that bathing can be something you tend to put off longer than you should. You may want to consider replacing your current bathtub with one that does a better job of meeting your health needs. This article will introduce you to some of the different styles of bathtubs that help you to feel better.

Walk-in tubs

If you have health problems that affect your movement, then you may have a hard time getting in and out of the bathtub. When you aren't able to step easily over the side of your tub, this puts you at higher risk of falling. A walk-in tub alleviates some of the danger of falling and makes it easier for you to get in.

There is a door located right in the side of the tub that opens so you can walk in. The door is waterproof so you don't have to worry about water seeping out while you are bathing. These tubs also have seats in them so you don't have to worry about getting all the way down and then back up again. They can have optional features that help you more, such as jets, handheld showerheads and more.

Soaking tubs

If you are a person who has a good deal of pain, such as that associated with conditions such as arthritis or fibromyalgia, then you may want to go with a soaking tub. This is a deep tub that you can fill with water that comes up further than most tubs. These tubs can also have seats in them and some of them have other features like jets, head rests or other features added for your comfort and convenience.

Whirlpool tubs

Another type of tub that's good for you if you suffer from a lot of aches and pains is a whirlpool tub. This type of tub can also help if you have circulatory issues. The movement of the water can also help relax you and improve your stress levels. Whirlpool tubs can be purchased in any size so you can get a small one for a conservative bathroom or a very large one for a spacious bathroom.

The sooner you get the right bathtub in your bathroom, the sooner you can begin bathing in a setting that gives you comfort and safety, while helping you forget about your medical condition for a little while. Contact a local plumber, such as Aurora Plumbing and Electric Supply, Inc, to get a new tub installed.
